Description


How to configure the phone auto answer the incoming calls?

Some customers require the phones pick up incoming calls automatically, like call center.

Yealink phones support auto answer feature.


Resolution


1.    Yealink phones support auto answer feature, if you enable this feature, the phones will pick up the calls automatically. There are three ways to configure it.

a.     Web interface: Account->Basic->Auto Answer.

b.    Phone User Interface:

For SIP-T42G/T41P/T40P/T27P/T23P/T23G/T21(P) E2/T19(P) E2:

Menu->Features->Auto Answer->Status

For SIP-T46G/T29G:

Menu->Features->Auto Answer->Line X->Auto Answer

For SIP VP-T49G/SIP-T48G:

Menu->Features->Auto Answer->Line X->On/Off

For CP860:

Menu->Features->Auto Answer->Auto Answer

c.     Via auto provision:

account.X.auto_answer=

1-    Enable, 0- Disable, the default is 0. Note: you need to change x to detail account.

 

Related option:

a.     Auto answer delay

Configures the delay time (in seconds) before the IP phone automatically answers an incoming call.

Note: It works only if the value of the parameter “account.X.auto_answer” is set to 1

(Enabled).

Web User Interface:

Features->General Information->Auto Answer Delay (1~4s)

Provision string: features.auto_answer_delay= (Range: 1-4)

 

2.    For administrator, if you don’t enable the auto answer feature, the incoming calls still can be auto answered, if refer to the SDP message.

If the INVITE request contains the following type of strings, the IP phone will answer
incoming calls automatically without playing the ring tone:
l Alert-Info: Auto Answer
l Alert-Info: info = alert-autoanswer
l Alert-Info: answer-after = 0 (or Alert-Info: Answer-After = 0)

Note: The 0 mean the ringing time interval before the phone answer the calls.

The 0 mean the incoming call will be answer immediately, if the parameter is 3, the call will be answer after ringing 3 seconds.

The parameter mush bigger or equal to 0. If the parameter is -1, the phone don’t support this parameter, it can’t be auto answer.
