Ring Back Issue

Description

Issue 1:No ring back tone heard when calls are made.

Issue 2:  Double ring back tone heard when calls are made.

Resolution

There is a setting in the phone to make decision, whether to deal with the 180 SIP message received after the 183 SIP message. The setting is “180 Ring Workaround”.

You can configure this via web or provisioning.

Via web:  Features->General Information->180 Ring Workaround

Via provision:

#It enables or disables the phone to deal with the 180 SIP message received after the 183 SIP message.

0-Disabled

1-Enabled

#The default value is 1.

phone_setting.is_deal180 =

        

(1)  For the issue 1 : phone_setting.is_deal180 = 1

(2)  For the issue 2 : phone_setting.is_deal180 = 0

 

Only for distributor or professional engineer:

Condition: Even though the “180 Ring Workaround” is enabled/disabled, but the phone still can’t hear the ring back tone.

a. Level 6 syslog

b. PCAP trace

c. Config.bin
