Description
A computer and laptop can get an IP address when connecting to switch directly but they can’t get an IP address when connecting to phone PC port
Cause
1.Phone configuration
2.Port security configuration in switch
Resolution
1.Make sure that the PC port is not disabled. You can check the option under Network- > PC Port.
2.Make sure that you have configured a correct VLAN setting; generally we won’t set a VLAN to PC.
3.Check with network administrator whether there is port security configuration (like 802.1x) in switch. If yes the switch may only allow binding a MAC address to a specific port and your PC won’t be able to get an IP address due to this mechanism.
