MS Teams-How to Upgrade the Yealink Teams Edition from Open SIP or SfB edition

Description

This guide tells the procedure of upgrading YealinkT58A/T56A/CP960 IP phone from Open SIP or SfB edition to Microsoft Teams edition.

(Note: Yealink suggests customers to purchase the Yealink MS Teams Edition (Pre-installed Firmware and License) from channel partners or distributors at Day One, please contact with your reseller and highlight the Yealink Teams Edition with specific SKU let’s say MS-T56A-Teams Edition.)

Open SIP

-      Download the Microsoft Teams firmware file via the hyperlink according the model:

T58A:

-      On the device, go to Settings -> Status -> General to find out the IP address of the device.

Type the IP address into web browser to go to the web interface of the device, and log in with the default Administrator information:

Username: admin

Password: admin

As shown below:

-      Go to Settings -> Upgrade, in the bottom of the page, upload the MS Teams firmware.

When you click Upload, a Message Question will pop-up, click OK.

(Note: During the update, do not power off the device, close or refresh the browser)

-      Yealink Teams license need to be installed on Yealink Teams edition before using. Go to page: https://www.yealink.com/ , under support, click Apply for License, as shown below:

-      Register for an account, as shown below:

-      Then login to Yealink License Management Platform.

-      In the Yealink License Management Platform, go to License Management -> My application, click “+New Temporary License” or “New Permanent License” based on your need.
(Note: So far, end users could only apply for temporary licenses up to 180 days. If you need to apply for permanent licenses please contact your distributor or phone provider).

-      Fill out and submit the application form.

Ø  Version: select Microsoft Teams

Ø  MAC: IP phone: Setting -> About -> MAC

           OR

Web interface: Status -> Network Common -> MAC Address.

Ø  Model: You can find it at the bottom of the device.

-      When the application is approved, login to Yealink License Management Platform License Management -> My application, scroll all the way to the right, under Action, download the license.

-      Then, go to web interface Security -> License to upload the license.

(Note: The device will reboot after the license is imported)

-      Upgrade completed

-      If the firmware is upgraded from Skype for Business, the license should be already installed, if not, go to page: https://www.yealink.com/ , under support, click Apply for License, as shown below:
