[YMCS/YDMP] How to use YMCS with Metaswitch

Description

This FAQ shows how to use YMCS with Metaswitch platform including the detaield deployment processes.

Resolution

Process 1. Adding phones to YMCS

a)      For customer who has RPS account and uses RPS to provide auto provisioning URL to phones, please bind the RPS account to YMCS and sync the phones to YMCS.

b)      For customer who doesn’t have RPS account, but would like to use Yealink redirector service to provide auto provisioning URL to phones, please enable the “Synchronize to RPS” option when adding phones to YMCS.

c)      For customer who would like to use other methods to provide auto provisioning URL to devices, please use the normal method to add phones to YMCS.

Process 2. Upgrading phones to proper firmware via auto provisioning

a)      Supported phone models and firmware version requirements:

Notice: The V83 firmware of T41P/T42G/T46G/T48G do NOT support Metaswitch CommPortal Applicationsimage.png      image.png

b)      Checking the firmware in the Metaswitch profile:

If the firmware is not supported by YMCS, please update the firmware in the Metaswitch EndPoint Pack and then upgrade the phones to the new firmware.

Process 3. Editing the profile to enable DM feature

a)      For new Metaswitch EndPoint Packs, there have “DM” option under “Provisioning”.

Notice: With the new EndPoint Packs, please do not set DM parameters via Free Settings, if there are DM parameters, please empty them.

(The DM Server Address is dmtcp.yealink.com)

b)      For old Metaswitch EndPoint Packs, which do not have “DM” option under “Provisioning”, please set DM parameters in Free Settings.

Process 4. Auto Provisioning the phones

After auto provisioning, please check whether the phones connect to YMCS successfully.

YMCS portal -> Device Management -> SIP Device List, the “Status” of the phones should be Registered/Unregistered, not Offline/Invalid.
